CLASS OF 2006
The Pathmakers Class of 2006 celebrated its 10-year anniversary in 2016. In keeping with the motto, “Readers Create Global Pathways,” several dozen class members took the challenge issued last year from the class officers to join the Seven Seals or move to the next level of the Seals. Marching in the Recognition Day parade, class members donned their purple shirts and carried their walking sticks.
New visors and canvas bags were added this year to the regalia. Before the parade, the class met for their annual breakfast social gathering and business meeting. Working with the Building and Grounds Department, the class purchased globe thistles that were added to the Kate Kimball Garden behind Alumni Hall in the summer of 2016 in honor of our 10th anniversary.
Nick Stupiansky, Class Treasurer, compiled a 10-year history of the class, which was distributed at the annual business meeting and mailed electronically to all class members. As an addendum to the document, Gail Gamble and Kendall Crolius contributed the interesting story of the making of the Class of 2006 banner, including how it traveled around the globe as it was being embroidered by Kendall, then hand-painted and embellished with gold fringe and cord by Gail.
The Pathmakers are looking forward to the next ten years of marching together behind our beautiful globe-trotting banner.
