STUDENT SCHOLARSHIPS HOUSING OPPORTUNITY
After a two-year hiatus for Covid protocols, the Student Scholarship Committee is back on track for offering Chautauqua County rising high school seniors a 6 day stay on the grounds of Chautauqua Institution while staying with a host family and taking the Young Writers Workshop. These workshops are offered at the Literary Arts Center at Alumni Hall.
The cost for the workshops and the necessary gate passes is paid for by proceeds from the Silent Auction that happens each summer. This year, the Young Writers' Workshops will occur during weeks 5 and 6.
If you are a CLSC alumnus and you think you could accept one or more students into your home or accommodations for the week that they attend the workshop, please email Carol at firstname.lastname@example.org to discuss further details.
The auction monies additionally provide the students with a stipend for the week as well as activities such as the Chautauqua Institution tour, or perhaps an opera or theater ticket. Please consider this opportunity. It is important for us to continue to reach out to the residents of our county. If you don't have an extra bed, it is possible that there may be a student who cannot or chooses not to stay overnight but would appreciate a daytime host for the week.
